The LightLine range of products is based on the patent pending Multi-Channel Queue Reservation (MCQR) technology. It uses a queue reservation processor to monitor the progress of queues in a system. For example, when the end-user uses the mobile phone to send a SMS message to request for a queue reservation (QR), the queue processor of the system will issue the latest number in a SMS message and send it to the end-user. Furthermore, the system will update the queue system database, so that the next customer who takes a ticket, either from the physical ticket machine or remotely, will be issued the next number in the sequence.

Whenever a number is called at the service counter, the queue processor will gauge if a notification should be sent out to an end-user, based on a configurable threshold. If the threshold is met, the system will send a notification SMS to the end-user, so that he can get his service just in time.

As the name indicates, the MCQR technology allows multiple means of interacting with the queue reservation system. The LightLine products also support queue reservation via the web and can be integrated with interactive voice response system. All notification is done via the SMS because it is most convenient for the users.
